  2. In doing the monthly or so Google search on myself, found a little blurb reviewing some collage pieces I had in a group art show in Long Island City last year. Fascinating to see the correlations between what I intended while creating the work and the viewer’s unbiased thoughts. Glad to know I’m getting at least something right.

Highlights here include Lexi Namer’s brooding digital collages of what seem to be vintage photographs to create wide vistas of sky and prairie – these works efficiently draw the viewer in, and forcefully bringing up questions of distortion, interruption, and the difficulties of reconstructing history.

  7. Shot the HTML Launch Party for the Wix Lounge last night. There are a few of my personal favorites from the evening. Been drawn to fast-paced scenes and movement in my work lately. Its much more taxing but a refreshing jolt from a lot of my quieter 2011 work.

  8. your life is your life. don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission. be on the watch. there are ways out. there is a light somewhere. it may not be much light but it beats the darkness. be on the watch. the gods will offer you chances. know them. take them. you can’t beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes. and the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be. your life is your life. know it while you have it. you are marvelous. the gods wait to delight in you. -Charles Bukowski

  10. Living in New York means winding up in some very interesting places. Last Saturday night, following a text message from my photog buddy Abby that read “fire twirler and lots of half naked people so worth checking out,” I found myself at the benefit gala for the yearly Mermaid Parade on Coney Island. For one reason or another, I’m never able to attend the actual Mermaid Parade, so I figure this is the next best thing (sans beach and hot weather). Burlesque shows, fire twirlers, magic-acts, and yes, lots of half naked  dancers.
